Hi im back with what we did today. It was a sunny day in fernie and we went to have breakfast, I had my normal toast and mum and dad had fancy eggs and bacon. Our shuttle left at 10am. While on the shuttle I learnt some differences from canada and New Zealand e.g. The mountains were three times the size, the trees grew straight not wonkey and also that the trees grow on the mountain where as in NZ the trees only reach the bottom. And there were similarities between us such as we both had natives, Maori in NZ and aboriginals in canada also known as First Nation people. I also learnt that st eugene is a reservation that used to be a mission and school house which was iteresting. if you have seen the movie rabit proof fence you will understand. ( by the way aboriginals are different to aboriginese). the second part of the day was filled with golf, and for once I played well woohoo. Im not sure how I played we'll in the heat but I did. Then it was rest time where we had a drink and some fries. Yum.
So that was it for today be back tommorow.

MOVIE TIME
Hi guys how are ya. Today we went to Fernie golf course for the last time and we played 18 holes of golf. It was the first day I played reasonably well. It was a great day and I was happy to be outside. The high was 25 degrees C. Yesterday Dad finished his mountain bike event and he was very tired, he said it was the hardest thing he'd ever done. When we arrived back at the apartment. We sat down had a rest then went to the pool. I bought a ball of my own so I could play around with it when I was bored of just swimming. Mum would always race to the ball which was unfair because she is a way better swimmer. Oh and on that note, GOOD LUCK TO ALL SWIMMING SPORT COMPETITORS. As we headed off to the movie we talked about things that we had done over the holiday and what would come. The movie was quite cool but hard to understand at parts. We watched WOLVERINE. It is a very complicated movie and you should watch it. While we're in the cinema a kid with his father were sitting there talking the whole movie and the kid was only 7 watching an M movie .
Any way that's it for today cya tommorow

We wandered through town to find a place to have lunch and we ended up stopping at Big Bang bagels, I ordered the Sheldon........ Just kiddin I had ham and cheese. It was a great lunch and it filled me up so I was happy. Mum and Dad were look ing for a coffee and they finally found one. Im so happy they did because there always complaining about the weak coffee. Since it was so hot dad and I walked back through the golf course while Mum looked through the shops on Main Street. We booked three tee times at fernie country club. When we got back to the hotel we went swimming again because it was 34's C. Then we went to the briefing which told him about the course and difficulty. Oh and I forgot to tell u that yesterday I saw Pacific rim a movie about robots vs aliens it was very cool.

Touring bananza
Ok well today we had another tour but this time we didnt travel to another town we just got a tour Around Banff. We caught our bus at 8:05 which took us to the Depo centre. at which we got put on another bus. I was very excited and one of the coolest things I saw was Buffalo road which has houses that have buffaloes in on or around it.
We ascended up tunnel mountain also known as the sleeping buffalo. (because it looks like a sleeping buffalo). Our first major stop was the Banff gondola which took us up Sulphur mountain, named that because of the hot springs that contain sulphur. At the top we went to the cabin hut located at the summit of Sulphur mountain, on the way up we saw a whole lot of flat tailed squirrels, which are just like normal squirrels but their tail is flat to the ground.
Our second and final major stop was lake Minnewaka were we had lunch and got to tour the lake on a house boat sort of thing. it was very cool but since we were at the back and outside we couldn't hear the commentary on the lake and surrounding wildlife. Eventually i went inside to listen to the commentary, but as soon as i got there she stoped talking. So i went back outside and guess what she starts talking again. Even though we couldn't hear the talking we still enjoyed the tour of the lake.
That was pretty much it for the day it was very fun and action packed. Tomorrow we get the bus at 9:45 so we have to get up earlyish to have breakfast. Ok I will post tomorrow and see you all then.

Day 5 I think
Hi im back and today we were on the second to last day on the bus tour. We started at 9:45, the first stop was lake bow where we threw stones into the lake, but we only got ten minutes. The second stop was lake Peto which was in the bow valley so we couldn't get down to it we just stood on the top of an observation platform.
Then we went on the bus to the ice field. first we took a shuttle up to the dirt road where we got off and on to a big six wheel drive truck that took us up to athabasca glacier where we got to play on the ice and drink the glacier water, which was so cold I could not hold my hand in for more than 5 seconds. Our driver on the truck was a man called Masami, he was very funny and entertaining. He talked about ice walking and how you should always go with a friend that would risk his life for you. He said "and thats why i would not take my wife she would drop me into a crevice ."
After the ice field tour we went back to lake Louise to drop some people of at the hotel and on the way we saw a black bear and its 5 month old cub, it was the first wild bear ive ever seen and i was very excited. i got lots of cool pictures that I will either post on the blog or show you when I get back to school
Now we are in Banff, a little town sort of like Arrowtown or a little Wanaka. The hotel we are staying at a harry potter castle (i wish).
I will see you tomorrow.

My holiday
20/7/2013
Hi guys aiden here just informing you on my holiday, yesterday it was a travel day. It was in the afternoon that we arrived, even though it was 5pm it was like wellingtons noon, I was amazed and confused. Today we went up to grouse mountain, we saw a lumberjack show and we walked the famous grouse grind (an off road climb that has 2840 steps that are roughly half a meter high, and to make things worse the slope average was 50*😥)
Back tomorrow

Book groups
Hi guys just here to talk about my book group. Our group is going really well, we all listen to each others comments and take in everyone's thoughts. We barely ever got off topic , the only time we did was when Joaquin ate a chip off Sophia's lap. I learned from the experience that it is good to catch up with friends and talk about an interesting book. I find it easier to understand the book when other people are contributing their ideas.
